The Transportation Security Administration is testing reduced screening for those 75 and older at four airports — Chicago O’Hare, Denver, Portland, Ore., and Orlando.

“Beginning Monday, older passengers will not be asked to remove their shoes or “light outerwear,” according to a TSA news release.
“These procedures could ultimately reduce — though not eliminate — pat-downs of travelers 75 and older,” the statement said. But “if anomalies are detected during security screening that cannot be resolved through other procedures,” off come the shoes and the traveler may get a pat-down.”
