Full-month data from the Transportation Security Administration for gun confiscation at airport screening points in January shows a substantial 40% increase over January 2012 — 135 guns this year vs. 96 a year ago. The percentage of guns that were loaded was about the same — 78% vs. 80%.

Dallas-Fort Worth (11), Salt Lake City (8) and Atlanta (6) were the top 3 locations for confiscations this year. Last year, Atlanta (7), Dallas-Fort Worth (5) and Tulsa (4) led for the month.
