Democrats in Paris Encourage US Troops, Americans Abroad to Participate in Early Voting

PARIS– Democrats living in Paris were among U.S. citizens living abroad who could vote in the global primaries for a week in mid-February. To get out the vote, Americans stationed in France took part in the rekindling of the eternal flame in Paris On Feb. 13.

Anna Marie Mattson, Democrats Abroad chair of the veterans and military families caucus, and Meredith Wheeler, vice chair of Democrats Abroad France who also was the American flagbearer at the event, discuss its significance. Starting Feb. 18, troops stationed abroad could vote early in the 2020 Democratic primaries by mailing or sending digital copies of their ballots.
