Student journalists in DC are investigating the national security implications of energy; report coming at year’s end

Ten  McCormick National Security Journalism Scholarship recipients are participating in an innovative 11-week reporting program this fall in Washington. Their work in Medill’s Washington bureau will culminate in an investigative multimedia project on national security issues.

The winners of these $7,500 graduate student scholarships are being supervised by Josh Meyer, a 20-year veteran of the Los Angeles Times who joined the Medill faculty in 2010 to help establish the school’s National Security Journalism Initiative (NSJI). The project is focusing on the national security implications of energy.
