The Air Force has launched a legal assistance program for victims of sexual assault, in an attempt to persuade more victims to testify. Victims often find the investigation and legal process intimidating and traumatic, advocates say, and sometime refuse to cooperate, which can result in a stalled case. The new program provides victims with the option to consult an attorney who is trained in working with sexual assault victims. Full story from the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Montana Guard Program aims to help struggling teens

A Montana program run by the National Guard is working to help at-risk teens get back on the right track. “I’m 18. I need to be able to take care of myself,” Dylan Blaquiere, a cadet in the program says. “This is teaching me a whole bunch of stuff I’ll need after I get out of my mom’s house.” The program aims to help cadets earn their GED and move on to a structured environment such as school, the military or work. Military Base Movie Theaters Going Digital

Movie theaters on military bases bring entertainment and sometimes, a piece of home, to military families across the world. But the industry’s switch to digital is forcing the entertainment service that runs the theaters to close down half of them. The ones that aren’t closing are getting an upgrade to digital format.
